Addicted to Facebook? After the tremendous success of the Facebook webapp for iPhone, the creators have come up with the Facebook app. This application sits in your iPhone and lets you be in touch with your friends, update your status and do everything you can do on the Facebook site.
The application is at once recognizable with the familiar Facebook icons and colors. The minimalistic interface comes with all the important tabs of Facebook: Home, Profile, Friends and Inbox, placed at the top of the app. update your status just as you can do with Facebook.
Interface
After logging in, the first page shows the list of friends and their status updates. Clicking on a friend opens up his profile. The application lets you browse photos and post messages just like the full Facebook website. The application also lets you chat with your friends just like a full-fledged chat client. And what’s more, it’s free!
Call a friend simply by tapping his number or email him if these details are listed in his profile.
The most interesting feature of this application is its ability to upload photos. Capture your favorite image and upload it directly to Facebook with just a tap.
The application cuts down the time spent on loading the Facebook webpage. It is also less processor intensive. The interface though minimalistic manages to keep all the basic features intact.
The creators have some fantastic plans for future releases of this app. One of the most anticipated features is to use the phone to locate friends who are nearby.
Though there have been criticisms of the interface, the Facebook application has featured as the most downloaded application from the iTunes website. And if the news getting around is to be believed, it only gets better from here.
